The Griffin wrestling team completed competition in the highly competitive Midwest Classic on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Brandon Matthews led the team with a sixth place finish at 174 pounds.
Matthews won three matches on Saturday to advance to the semifinals on Sunday. On Sunday, Matthews dropped a 4-2 decision to #6 Matt Bross from UMary. Matthews then dropped two matches in the consolation round, including the fifth place match.
William Burgess dropped a 7-1 decision to #3 Collin Metzgar in the consolation round on Sunday to be eliminated from the Classic.
SHU will be off for the Christmas Holiday before returning to action on January 11th at Shippensburg.
