Tomas, Seto Named to All Challenge Team

The Seton Hill University women's basketball program hosted the 2022 Atlantic Regional Conference Challenge this past weekend in the McKenna Center in Greensburg.  The Challenge featured four teams from the Atlantic Region including the Griffins and Lock Haven from the PSAC along with Virginia State from the CIAA and Wheeling from the Mountain East. 
 
After four games of great basketball, an All Challenge Team has been announced.  The team includes senior guard Taylor Leidy from Lock Haven, senior forward Shayla Sweeney from Virginia State, graduate forward Alie Seto and senior guard Courtney Tomas from Seton Hill and junior guard Shanley Woods from Wheeling.  The Challenge MVP was senior forward Lauren Calhoun from Wheeling. 
 
Leidy averaged 11.5 points and 4 rebounds per game.  She added three assists and three steals in a pair of contests.  Sweeney averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Trojans went 1-1 in the challenge.  Seto averaged 12.5 points and 11 rebounds in her two contests.  She added three assists and two steals while posting a double double against Wheeling.  Tomas averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds per contest.  She added three assists, three steals and three blocks.  Woods averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of wins.
 
Calhoun was dominant in the paint as the Cardinals won both of their contests this weekend.  She averaged a double double of 21.5 points and 17.5 rebounds.  She had 20 points and 18 rebounds in the win over Lock Haven on Saturday and followed that up with a 23 point, 17 rebound performance in the win over Seton Hill on Sunday.
