Seton Hill closed out their season as they hosted Millersville in a PSAC Crossover on Senior Day at Offutt Field in Greensburg.
The Griffins scored a touchdown on their first possession but it would be their only touchdown of the day as they fell by the score of 14-10 to the Marauders. SHU ends the season at 2-8 while Millersville finishes at 5-6.
Seton Hill won the toss and took the ball to start the game. SHU needed just five plays to go 79 yards for the opening score.Â
Tyler Bradley hit
Todd Phillips with a 59 yard pass play on the drive. He capped the drive with a 22 yard touchdown to
Mark Bails.Â
Luke Hauger's extra point gave SHU the early 7-0 lead. After a Griffin interception on their next drive, Millersville capitalized on the short field and scored on a two yard touchdown run to tie the score at seven with 10:13 left in the quarter. Neither team was able to move the ball the rest of the quarter and the game entered the second quarter tied at seven. Â
Early in the second quarter, the Griffins extended their lead to 10-7 on an 18 yard field goal from Hauger. Both teams then missed field goals as the game entered the halftime break with SHU ahead 10-7. Â
Midway through the third quarter,
Alton Jones got his first interception of the day, giving the Griffins the ball at their own 42 yard line. SHU could not take advantage of the short field and was forced to punt. With just nine seconds to play in the third quarter, the Marauders took a 14-10 lead on a 22 yard touchdown run. Â
Again, midway thru the fourth quarter, Jones intercepted his second pass of the game. The Griffins were able to drive 46 yards in 15 plays but were forced to turn the ball over on downs at the Ville 18 yard line with just over a minute to play. The Marauders were able to run out the clock. Â
Bradley finished throwing for 207 yards and one touchdown. Bails caught six passes for 108 yards and a TD. Â
Defensively the Griffins were led by
Jaylen McDuffie who had 11 total tackles.Â
Alton Jones had 10 tackles and two interceptions.Â
Narrio Walks finished with nine total tackles. Â
