The Seton Hill Rocket League team faced off with its third straight undefeated opponent this week, taking on Concord University Maroon team Wednesday. The Griffins responded from an overtime loss in game 1 to take the next four and win a 4-1 decision, making it three straight wins over unbeaten squads.

The previous wins, which came over SUNY Poly and Delaware, both came in seven-game matches. Although Seton Hill was able to win this match in five, its was still close throughout. The opening game carried into overtime tied at 2-2 and Concord would eventually score the winning goal at the 2:52 mark to take the 1-0 series lead.

The Griffins came back to take game two by a 3-1 count and the third game was a defensive struggle. It was scoreless until there were 71 seconds left iin regulation when Aidan Hollander scored for a 1-0 SHU lead. Concord pushed for the tying goal, but Hollander made a key save in the final 20 seconds to preserve the eventual 1-0 victory to lift Seton Hill to a 2-1 advantage.

In game four, the Griffins struck early, putting three goals on the board in the first 1:30 of the game. Concord's comeback effort would fall short, as a goal with no time left on the clock made the final score 4-3 in SHU's favor. Needing one win to wrap up the match, Seton Hill would have to come back to do it, as Concord scored 1:02 into the game for a 1-0 lead. The final three minutes of the match would be controlled by the Griffins. Jack Wagner scored with 2:49 left to make it a 1-1 count. Then with 1:21 to play, Wagner had a shot go wide left, but he followed the shot and his rebound was true for a 2-1 lead.

In the last minute, Concord generated some chances, but the Griffin defense of Anthony Panko, Hollander and Wagner tightened up to clear those away. Then with just five seconds to play, Wagner scored his third goal of the game to wrap up the 3-1 win in the game and give the Griffins a 4-1 victory over Concord, who entered the match with a 6-0 record.
