The Griffins closed out the road portion of their schedule with a PSAC West matchup at Edinboro on Saturday afternoon.
Seton Hill scored 31 unanswered points in the second half as they broke a 14 all tie at the half in route to a 45-14 road win.
Edinboro took the opening kick and marched 78 yards with the final play a one yard TD rush to take an early 6-0 lead over the Griffins. The Griffins answered right back as they took a 7-6 lead on a 13 yard touchdown pass from
Tyler Bradley to
Mark Bails. Near the end of the quarter,
Zahir Reed picked off a pass for the Griffins. SHU led 7-6 after one quarter of play.
The Griffins extended their lead to 14-6 on a ten yard touchdown run from
Zakh Williams early in the second quarter. Edinboro tied the score at 14 with a touchdown on their next drive. The teams entered the halftime break tied at 14.
Early in the third quarter,
Luke Hauger connected on a 27 yard field goal as SHU extended their lead to 17-14.
Damonte Pratt then picked off an Edinboro pass and raced 35 yards to the end zone as SHU built a 24-14 lead with 5:21 left in the third quarter.
On the fifth play of the fourth quarter,
Ky'Ron Craggette scored from seven yards out as SHU extended their lead to 31-14. On the next Scot possession,
Nelson Gedeon forced a fumble on a sack and
Jahiem Thomas recovered it at the Edinboro 18 yard line. Craggette capped the short drive with a one yard touchdown run and the Griffins built their lead to 38-14 with 12:19 left.
Taz Morris closed out the scoring for the Griffins with an eight yard run late in the fourth quarter.
The Griffins finished the contest with 25 first downs and 431 yards of total offense. SHU held Edinboro to just 207 total yards and 15 first downs.
Bradley threw for 155 yards and a touchdown. Craggette rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Morris added 98 yards rushing and one touchdown.
Jaylen McDuffie led the defense with nine tackles.
Jaden Mack added eight and
Narrio Walks finished with seven.
SHU will close out PSAC West play next Saturday as they host Mercyhurst.
