Riding a two-game winning streak, Seton Hill's Rocket League team took on Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Wednesday night. The match went to a a seventh game and RPI scored as time expired to claim a 4-3 victory.
With the match tied 3-3 in the deciding game, RPI was clinging to a 2-1 lead before
Anthony Panko scored with 1:04 left to draw the Griffins even at 2-2. Seton Hill had a couple chances to score in the closing minute, but one shot bounced off the cross bar and an RPI defender made a great save on another attempt.
The match looked like it would be destined for overtime, but RPI punched in a goal as the clock hit 0:00 to take a 3-2 win in the deciding game and escape with the narrowest of wins.
Now with a 2-2 record, the Griffin team, who featured Panko,
Jack Wagner and
Aidan Hollander in the RPI match, will be back in action next Wednesday. Seton Hill is scheduled to take on Loyola (Md.) University Green at 8 pm.
