Volleyball Rolls to Sweep of Mercyhurst

After an off day on Friday, the Griffin volleyball team returned to the court as they hosted Mercyhurst in PSAC West action on Saturday afternoon.

SHU cruised to a three set sweep of the visiting Lakers as the Griffins have won four of their last five contests.  SHU is now 14-8 overall and 4-6 in the PSAC.

Seton Hill opened the match with a 25-17 first set win.  SHU then followed that with back to back 25-16 set wins to sweep the match.

Eleven different Griffins finished with a kill as a balanced attack led SHU to the win.  Paige Cole led the Griffins with nine kills.  Elizabeth Kolkowski had six kills in nine swings.  Katie Koziarz finished with five kills in eight swings.  Bobbi Rempe added four kills on six swings.  

Abby Oesterling led the offense with 21 assists.  Carrie Leazer had six aces and 11 digs to lead SHU.  

The Griffins will host IUP next Friday evening in an important PSAC West contest.
