Cross Country Teams Run at Lock Haven Invitational

The Griffin cross country teams hit the course for the second straight week as they took part in the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  

The women's team continued their great runs as they finished third in a very competitive field.  SHU was the top team to finish from the PSAC.  Walsh won the event followed by Charleston (WV).  The Griffins were ten team points better than Edinboro. 

The men's team finished 12th in the event.  

Pacing the day for the women was Sydney Wolf who was 16th overall in a time of 22:13.7.  Hannah Smrcka was 25th overall in a time of 22:44.3.  Isabelle McCabe was next in 33rd place.  She ran the 6K course in a time of 22:57.8.  Alexis Cunningham was right behind McCabe in 35th place in a time of 22:57.9.  Darby Roth rounded out the SHU top five with a 38th place finish.  She completed the course in 23:01.6.  Julia Lersch and Kate Pipilo closed out the top seven Griffins.  Lersch was 59th and Pipilo was 63rd.  

Two Griffins nearly tied for the top spot on the guys squad.  Gabriel McConville barely nipped Donavin Meriweather for the top spot.  McConville was 65th in a time of 26:36.9 and Meriweather was 66th in at time of 26:37.2.  Al Lindstrom, Logan Maust and Brayden Henninger rounded out the top five for the men's team in the 8K race.

SHU will next compete at the Lewis Crossover on October 9th.
