The tennis team played their home opener on Sunday afternoon against Fairmont State at Latrobe High School.  The Falcons took two of the three doubles matches and then won five singles matches for a 6-1 win over the Griffins.  SHU is now 1-1 on the season.  

The doubles team of Julianna Begley and Marlayna Verenna won their match by a 6-1 score but the Falcons won the other two doubles matches to earn the one doubles point.  

In singles, Kaitlyn Walch won 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, TB (10-5) for the lone singles win.

SHU returns to action the first weekend of October at the PSAC singles and doubles championship.
