7/8/2021 2:30:00 PM

The postseason awards continue to roll in for two time NCAA National Champion Samuel Hartman as he was named a PSAC Winter/Spring Top 12 Award recipient.  He joins Tommy Pellis (20-21 Winter/Spring), Nathan Davis (18-19 Winter, 19-20 Winter), Viktoria Farian (2019 Fall), Kaitlyn Germanoski (2017-18 Winter), Noah Davis (2016-17 Winter), Joe Smith (2016 Fall), Mallory Sanner (2015 Spring) and Tyler Zimmer (2013 Fall) who all received the award.

The Top 10 Awards, selected by the PSAC's sports information directors, recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom, as well as in the arena of competition. The conference designates Top 10 Award winners after each of the sports seasons: fall, winter and spring.  To be a candidate for the Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.  The PSAC Top 10 Awards were initiated in 1997.

Hartman, a 3.80 Computer Science Major, became the first Griffin to ever win two NCAA National Championships.  Samuel won the 110 meter and 400 meter hurdles national championship at the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  He won the 110 hurdles by .01 with a time of 13.88 seconds.  Samuel then earned his second national title with a win in the 400 hurdles where he ran a time of 50.50.

This season, Hartman was named the PSAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.  Hartman was also named the USTFCCA Atlantic Region Track Athlete of the Year.  He won two PSAC Championships and was named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the meet.
