The Griffins began play in the 2021 NCAA Atlantic Regional with a familiar foe as they faced Bloomsburg, a team that they had just met the previous weekend in the PSAC finals.

This time it was the Griffins that played long ball and slugged out 18 hits in a 15-3 win over the Huskies. SHU improves to 36-6 overall.Â

Jared Kollar was able to work out of a first and third with one out jam as he got two strikeouts to end the inning. Kollar struck out the side in the top of first.Â

The Griffins then broke out the bats in the bottom of the first inning. With one out, the Griffins got back to back to back singles from
Tommy Pellis,
Isaiah DiAndreth and
Derek Orndorff. Orndorff's drove in the first run of the game.Â
Vincenzo Rauso then followed with a bomb over the left field wall to give the Griffins a 4-0 lead.Â

Jordan Fiedor and
Tyler Peterson singled.Â
Jack Oberdorf made it 7-0 with an oppo taco into the right center field bleachers.Â

SHU pushed across two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rauso drove in DiAndreth and Orndorff with a two out double to make it 9-0.Â

Orberdorf's majestic blast to left center to open the fifth inning extended the lead to 10-0 after five innings. It was his second homer of the game.Â

Kollar finished his evening retiring twelve straight Huskies to end his night after six innings of action.Â

Bloomsburg scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to trim the Griffins lead to 10-3. The Griffins answered with three runs in their half of the seventh.Â
Tanner Froehlich with a sacrifice fly to score one and DiAndreth added two runs with a single to right.Â

Peterson knocked in a run with a single and
Carl Turner added an RBI groundout to give the Griffins a 15-3 lead.

Kollar earned the win by working 6 innings. He gave up three hits, no runs while striking out eight and walking none.Â
Caiden Wood worked 1.1 scoreless innings and
Michael Marinchak worked 1.2 innings while striking out five.

Sabol, Rauso, Peterson and Oberdorf each had three hits. Rauso drove in five and Oberdorf drove in four. DiAndreth and Orndorff each added two hits.

The Griffins will next face Millersville in the semifinals of the regional on Friday afternoon at 3 PM.Â
