Women's Lacrosse Season Ends in NCAA Atlantic Regional Semifinal

Seton Hill and East Stroudsburg met in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Semifinal in East Stroudsburg, PA on Friday afternoon.  

The Griffins trailed by only two at the half but the Warriors outscored the Griffins by a 9-3 margin to eliminate the Griffins from the NCAA Tournament by an 18-10 score.  Seton Hill finishes the season with a 13-3 record.  ESU improves to 11-3 and will face top seed West Chester in the regional final on Sunday.  

The Warriors opened the game scoring four of the first five goals as they took an early 4-1 lead over the Griffins.  Taylor Fox-Trudel scored with just over 25 minutes to play in the half as SHU cut the lead to 3-1.  Kristi Kada and Jaclyn Frank scored for the Griffins as they trailed 6-3 with 13:53 to play in the first half.  The Warriors answered right back with a goal ten seconds later to push their lead to 6-3.  

Back to back goals from Alaina TeSelle and Alyssa Ference got the Griffins back to within one at 6-5 with just under nine minutes to play.  Another goal from Ference, this one at the 5:51 mark made it 7-6.  The Warriors scored two straight before TeSelle scored at the buzzer to cut the lead to 9-7 at the half.  

Shots were even at 19 a piece in the first half.  The Warriors held a slight advantage in draw controls as they won 10 out of 16 in the half.  

East Stroudsburg scored the first five goals of the second half as they built a 14-7 lead with 17:46 to play in the contest.  Frank scored the Griffins first goal of the half, 13:29 into the half.  After two Warriors goals, Frank and TeSelle scored back to back for the final two SHU goals of the contest.  

TeSelle and Frank each scored three times for the Griffins.  Ference scored twice.  Both Kristi Kada and Fox-Trudel scored a goal and added two assists.
