Track Finishes Final Tune Up for PSAC Championships

The Griffin track and field teams made one last final preparation for the PSAC Championships at the WVU Twilight on Saturday afternoon.  

The men's team had a ton of top five finishes including five first place finishes.

Leading the way was Hunter Martin who had two first place finishes.  He was first in the triple jump (13.77m) and first in the long jump (7.23m).  Alex Martin was first in the shot put with a toss of 14.31m.  Owen Keith was first in the 10K with a time of 33:33.00 and Samuel Hartman was first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.94 seconds.  

The Griffins went 2-3 in both the hammer and discus.  Dylan Heisey was second in the hammer (49.11m) and Alex Martin was third (47.93m).  Levi Mayer was second in the discus (42.68m) and Alex Martin was third (42.24m).  SHU had the top five in the shot with Martin first, Mayer second, Zane Baughman third, Heisey fourth and Jaden Lopez fifth.  

SHU had one through four in the triple jump.  Martin was first, DaLon Ryles second (12.81m), Ben Hartman third (12.74m) and Andrew Campbell fourth (12.16m).  They also had 1-2-3 in the long jump.  Martin was first, Ryles second (6.67m) and Ben Hartman was third (6.39m).  The Griffins had four of the top five in the javelin.  Cameron Sapola was second (47.99m), Lopez third (47.49m), Jacob Burkey fourth and Logan Lindenmuth fifth.  

Seton Hill had the top three in the 110 hurdles.  Hartman was first, Sven Rabsahl second in a time of 15.18 seconds and Ben Hartman was third (16.45).  Rabsahl was second in the high jump (1.90m).  Joseph Piper was third in the 100 (11.21) and fifth in the 200 (22.63).  Donavin Meriweather was fifth in the 800 (1:59.18).  

On the women's side, Sydney Wolf was second in the 800 with a time of 2:13.20.  TerryLee Talasky was third in the 100 (13.02) and fourth in the 200 (25.99).  Jamilah Copeland was fourth in the 100 (13.09).  Sarah Johnson was third in the 400 hurdles (1:02.58) and Kara McKenzie was fifth (1:05.48).  

Aaliyah Speights was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.40 meters.  Elyssa Pemu was fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.50 meters.  Kristen Greggerson was fifth in the javelin with a toss of 33.81 meters.

The teams will compete in the PSAC Championships starting on Thursday.
