A group of Griffin throwers took part in the Slippery Rock Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
The small group earned two first place finishes, one second place finish and two third place finishes.
Leading the way on the women's side was
Sarah Gilliam who finished first in the shot put. Her throw of 11.98 meters won the event.
Levi Mayer earned the first place finish on the men's side. He was first in the shot put with a toss of 14.48 meters.
Dylan Heisey was second in the hammer throw. His throw was 47.77 meters. Rounding out the top fives on the men's side was a fourth place finish by Mayer in the discus. His throw was 41.36 meters.
Leah Kennedy had two top seven finishes. She was third in the shot put (11.81m) and seventh in the hammer throw (38.89m).
Blair Harris also had two top six finishes. She was fifth in the shot put (11.38m) and sixth in the discus (33.97m).
Kristen Greggerson was third in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.44 meters.
A few members of the Griffins will head to Ashland for the Ashland Alumni Invitational while the rest will head to the Paul Keiser Classic at Shippensburg.
