Seton Hill took a break from PSAC play on Sunday afternoon as they hosted Fairmont State in a non conference matchup at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
The Griffins took the one doubles point and then won three of the six singles matches to win the match by a 4-3 score. SHU has now won three straight matches and sits at 3-2 on the season.
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the match by winning two of the three doubles matches. SHU picked up a win at #1 doubles from
Jenna Bailey and
Kaelyn Zak by the score of 6-2.
Kaitlyn Walch and
Marlayna Verenna earned a win at #3 doubles in a tiebreak by the score of 7-6 (1).
The Griffins then won three of the six singles matches to earn a match win.
Cameron Beer won at #2 singles by the score of 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-0. Bailey also won a three set match at #3 singles by the score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. Verenna picked up the fourth point for the Griffins with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-4 win at #5 singles.
SHU will host Mercyhurst next Saturday in a PSAC West contest.
