Seton Hill began the PSAC Tournament with a quarterfinal matchup in Erie with second seeded Gannon on Tuesday afternoon. The Griffins scored the first goal of the contest but Gannon scored the final two goals of the contest for a 2-1 win over the Griffins. SHU ends the season with an 9-8-2 record. Gannon improves to 15-2-2 and advances to the PSAC Semifinal when they will meet Lock Haven.
It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard first. After a foul just into the Gannon defensive end,
Archie Lock took the free kick and sent the ball into the box where it bounced around and finally found the foot of
Wilfred Munn. Munn took a shot that slightly deflected off a Gannon defender and went into the back of the net to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead just over nine minutes into the contest.
Gannon responded just over a minute later with a highlight reel goal to tie the score at one. The game remained tied at one heading to the halftime break.
Seton Hill had a golden chance to take the lead just over 16 minutes into the second half when
Archie Lock send a ball into the box,
Cai Pritchard was able to get a foot on it but the Knights keeper made a key save. He followed that up with another key save on
Elias Vangen off the rebound.
With just over 12 minutes to play, the Knights scored the game winner. They used a free kick and a header in the box to take the 2-1 lead.
Bobby White finished with four saves in net for the Griffins. Munn and Lock each had a shot on goal for the Griffins.
