INDIANA, PA - The Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 17-15 win over Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill evens their record at 3-3 overall and moves to 1-0 in the PSAC.
•
Kristi Kada (Boyertown, PA, Boyertown) led the Griffins with an eye-opening six goals.
•
Kate Kada (Boyertown, PA, Boyertown) added three goals, while
Jaclyn Frank (Hauppauge, NY, Hauppauge) chipped in two goals and a whopping four assists.
•
Elizabeth Tamasitis (Boyertown, PA, Boyertown) and
Alyssa Ference (Venetia, PA, Peters Township) both came away with two goals, while
Aliana TeSelle (Owings, MD, Northern) and
Taylor Fox-Trudel (Whitby, Ontario, Everest Academy) added one goal apiece.

Kamille Ward (Royersford, PA, Springford) had 9 saves in the net for SHU.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• IUP's Jordan Kulp came out of the gate firing two quick goals to give the home team a 2-0 lead, but
Kristi Kada's two goals evened the game at 2-2 with 16:09 remaining in the first half.
Elizabeth Tamasitis gave SHU the lead with an unassisted goal at 14:29, and
Kate Kada followed less than a minute late to give SHU a 4-2 advantage. Back-to-back goals from IUP tied things up at 4-4, but a 5-1 run gave the Griffins a 9-5 advantage with 4:49 to go in the frame.
Taylor Fox-Trudel's goal got the run started with
Kristi Kada scoring two more in just over a minute of play. Following an IUP goal, it was
Jaclyn Frank's two goals just 14 seconds apart that gave SHU the 9-5 lead heading into halftime.
• The Crimson Hawks started off the second half in exactly the same manner of the first, scoring back-to-back goals under a minute apart to cut the deficit to 9-7 with 25:43 showing on the clock. But, the Griffins responded with a 4-1 run with goals from
Kate Kada,
Alyssa Ference,
Kristi Kada, and
Elizabeth Tamasitis to take a 13-8 lead with 18:30 remaining. IUP's five-goal run would even the game at 13-13, but SHU responded with four of their own to grab a 17-13 advantage. IUP would get two more goals to get to withing two, 17-15, with just over a minute to play, but Seton Hill would win the ensuing draw control and hold on for the win.
