Men's Basketball Upended By Salem

GREENSBURG -  The Seton Hill University men's basketball team fell to Salem University, 72-61, in a non-conference tilt on Wednesday evening inside the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center.

// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill is now 4-17 on the year.
• Salem improves their record to 15-7.

// HOW IT HAPPENED
• Salem was hot out the gate, building an 11-6 lead by the 13:46 mark of the first half. However, three free-throws by Nathan Davis started off a 12-4 Griffin run that saw Seton Hill take their first lead of the evening. After Jordan Forbes' layup push the Tiger lead back out to four, Marrek Paola's offensive rebound and layup cut the deficit to two, 13-11, with 11:39 remaining. Forbes' would again get a layup for Salem, but two free-throws by Paola brought the lead back down the two with 10:49 on the clock. After the two teams exchanged possessions, Tommy Sekunda's offensive rebound and tip in tied the game at 15-15 with 9:34 to go in the first half. Jimmy Moon's three ball after the Tiger missed shot gave SHU their first lead of the game, 18-15, with 9:13 to go. Salem would respond with a 19-5 run to take a 34-23 lead with just 2:51 on the clock, but Seton Hill would no go out. The Griffins made the most of the final 2:51 by going on a 10-3 run to end the half down just four, 37-33.

• The Tiger's would start off the second half just as hot as they did the first, eventually pushing their lead to 11, 47-46, with 16:07 remaining in the second half. SHU would whittle the lead to just four points on three different occasions, but could get no further as the Tigers came away with the 72-61 win.

• Seton Hill steps back into PSAC play on Saturday when they travel to Slippery Rock. Tip-off for that game is set for 3:00 PM.
