Seton Hill made their second straight trip to Erie. This time the Griffins took on Gannon in a PSAC West contest.
The Knights used a 46-34 second half advantage to pull away from the Griffins as SHU dropped a 75-61 decision on the road in Erie.
Five straight points from
Chimaobi Ezekwesili put the Griffins in front 5-0 in the early portion of the contest. After Gannon took a 6-5 lead, Ezekwesili drained another three to put SHU in front 8-6 with 12:55 to play in the first half.
Nathan Davis then scored five straight points to give SHU a 13-12 lead with ten minutes to play after a 6-0 Gannon run. Another Davis three put SHU back in front 20-18 with just over seven minutes to play before the half. Gannon took a 25-24 lead with 3:30 to play. It was the eleventh lead change of the first half. The Knights carried a 29-27 lead into the halftime break.
Gannon led 33-32 at the under sixteen media timeout. The Knights used a 10-2 run to take a 39-32 lead with 14 minutes to play in the second half. Back to back layups from
Samuel Tabe and
Jimmy Moon cut the lead to 41-36 but the Knights answered back with a three to take a 44-36 lead and force a SHU timeout with 11:17 to play.
Jaden Nelson hit a layin and Esekwesili drained a three to cut the Gannon lead to 49-43 with eight minutes to play in the second half. Davis got a layin at the five minute mark to keep the Gannon lead at six, 55-49.
Two Davis free throws cut the lead to 55-51 but four Gannon free throws increased the lead to 59-51 with three minutes to play. Gannon hit four more free throws to extend their lead to 65-51 with a minute to play.
Davis led the Griffins with 19 points. With those points, Davis moves into the second spot on the Seton Hill all time scoring list with 1,436 career points. Ezekwesili was the other Griffin in double figures with 11 points.

SHU will return home to host Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon.
