Seton Hill hit the road for their first road contest on Sunday afternoon as they traveled to Buckhannon, WV to take on WV Wesleyan.
The first half of the contest was scoreless but the Griffins scored twice in the second half in route to a 2-0 victory over the Bobcats. SHU improves to 2-0 early in the season.Â
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half with the teams heading to the halftime break with a 0-0 score. SHU held a 4-2 advantage in shots in the half and both teams registered two corners.Â
The Griffins got on the board first in the second half in the 68th minute when
Archie Lock converted a penalty kick to put the Griffins in front 1-0. The game remained 1-0 until the 90th minute when
Daniel Van Gorp scored his third goal of the season to put the Griffins in front 2-0 with 48 seconds to play in the contest. WV Wesleyan put together a spurt of offense in the last few seconds but a shot hit the post and
Austin Iddon made a late save to preserve the shutout.Â
Iddon posted his first shutout of the season making two saves.Â
Alex Dysen led the Griffins with 3 shots. Van Gorp and
Omri Shwartz each added two.Â
SHU returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Ohio Dominican for a 5 PM kickoff.Â
