The Griffin tennis team opened their 2019-20 season with a matchup against Daemen (NY) on Sunday afternoon at Latrobe High School.

Seton Hill swept the doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches for a 6-1 season opening victory. 

The doubles team of Kaelyn Zak/Jenna Bailey won their match by a score of 6-3. Ana Salazar/Cameron Beer took their doubles match by a  6-1 score and Kaitlyn Walch/Abby Herman won by a score of 6-2. 

In singles action, Zak won a tough match by the score of 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.   Bailey won by a 6-1, 6-1 score.  Salazar took her match by a 6-0, 6-1 margin.  Walch won by a 6-2, 6-1 score and Herman closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win. 

SHU will return to action next weekend with a matchup with Fairmont State next Sunday at 1 PM at Latrobe HS.
