SETON HILL ANNOUNCES 2019 HALL OF FAME CLASS

The Seton Hill University Athletic Department has announced the four individuals who will make up the ninth class in the Seton Hill University Athletic Hall of Fame.
 
The 2019 Seton Hill Hall of Fame Class includes Matt Delmonico '14 (Men's Lacrosse), Chris Giles '12 (Men's Basketball), Antwarn Jones '10 (Football) and Nicky Pergar '08 (Women's Soccer).
 
These greats will be officially inducted at the 2019 Seton Hill Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner, which will take place on Friday, October 11th. The inductees will also be introduced during the Griffins' Homecoming football game against Gannon on Saturday, October 12 at 4 p.m.
 
MATT DELMONICO '14
 
Matt Delmonico left the Seton Hill men's lacrosse program as one of its most decorated student athletes.  Delmonico holds the Seton Hill career record for points with 242 on 166 goals and 76 assists. 
 
He was a three time USILA All American and a three time first team All Conference selection.  Matt helped the Griffins to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2013 when he scored a team leading 43 goalsand finished with a team leading 72 points.
 
Delmonico was drafted by the Vancouver Stealth with the 30th pick in the 2014 National Lacrosse League Draft.
 
After graduation, Delmonico moved back home to Vancouver, Canada and continued playing lacrosse for the Coquitlam Adanacs in the Western Lacrosse Association.  He is a Career Firefighter for the City of Port Coquitlam, where he bought his first home and currently resides. 
 
 
CHRIS GILES '12
 
Chris Giles has his name etched all over the Seton Hill men's basketball record book.  Giles completed a stellar career for the Griffins where he was a three time All WVIAC Selection.
 
Giles holds the Seton Hill career records for points with 1,864.  He also holds career records with 711 field goals, 432 free throws, 323 assists and 217 steals.  Chris currently has three of the top seven highest scoring seasons in school history.  He also holds the SHU single season record for steals with 75. 
 
After graduating, Giles played basketball overseas in China and Costa Rica.  Chris then became a teacher in the Pittsburgh Public School District where he has taught at the Obama Academy for the past five years.  He is also the boys high school basketball coach at Propel Andrew Street HS.
 
Giles is married to Seton Hill Hall of Fame member Jordan Burkes and they just recently had their first daughter, Jaxx, who was born in June.
 
ANTWARN JONES '10
 
Antwarn Jones is one of the most dynamic players to come out of the Seton Hill football program.  He was a three time All WVIAC selection including two first team selections.  Antwarn was also an All Region selection after the 2008 season where he helped the team to their only NCAA Postseason appearance.
 
Jones holds nearly all of the Seton Hill rushing records.  He is the career leader in yards rushing with 4,186 and rushing attempts with 889.  Antwarn holds single season records with 1.323 yards, 285 attempts and 15 rushing touchdowns. 
 
He holds the second and third most rushing yards in a game record and his first run was a memorable one as he raced 98 yards for a touchdown.  That is also still a SHU single game record for longest run. 
 
Jones currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Joanna (Pichardo) Jones, a former Seton Hill Field Hockey player.  The couple has a three month old baby boy Antwarn Jr.  He is a general manager for Champs Sports and currently is running a store in Staten Island, NY.
 
NICKY PERGAR '08
 
Nicky Pergar was a member of the Seton Hill women's soccer program and led the program in the move from the NAIA to the NCAA.  Pergar was a four time All Conference selection and earned NAIA Region IX Second Team honors in 2005. 
 
Over her career, Pergar scored 57 goals and added 22 assists.  She led the 2005 team with 18 goals and added 8 assists.  The team finished the season with a 16-2-2 record and was eliminated from the NAIA Tournament by Tiffin in the regional semifinal on penalty kicks. 
 
After graduation, Pergar pursued her career in graphic design and is currently working at Highmark Health as a creative designer.
 
Pergar married Sean Garrity, a SHU Distinguished Alum, in 2014 and they currently resides in Munhall, PA.  They love traveling and have taken trips to Iceland, Costa Rica, Tanzania and Dubai.
