INDIANA, PA - Fueled by an eleven-goal first half, the Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team held on to defeat Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 16-14, in the opening round of the 2019 PSAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. SHU will take on top-seeded and No. 6 West Chester on Friday, May 3rd.

Keagan Pontious,
Mackenzie Kilduff, and
Jaclyn Frank all finished with three goals in the game.

Ashley Ingram,
Olivia Caragein, and
Taylor Fox-Trudel added two goals apiece, while
Alyssa Ference came away with a goal.

Katelyn Cressman dished two assists.
•
Hailey Jacobs was credited for nine saves in the win.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 2-1 after the first eight minutes of the game, the Griffins would run off six-straight goals and outscore IUP by a 10-4 margin the rest of the first half to take an 11-6 lead into halftime. IUP again scored the opening goal of the second half, but Seton Hill would match the home team almost goal-for-goal in the frame. IUP did close out the game on a three-goal streak, but the Griffins would hold on for the 16-14 win.
