Seton Hill continued PSAC play on Wednesday afternoon with a road contest at Bloomsburg. The Griffins trailed 5-3 at the half but shutout the Huskies in the second half, scoring seven goals in the first seven minutes of the second half, in route to a 13-5 victory over the Huskies. SHU is now 4-5 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play while the Huskies drop to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play.
Just over seven minutes into the contest,
Mackenzie Kilduff gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead. Bloomsburg answered with four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead with 11:02 to play in the first half. Two goals from
Keagan Pontious trimmed the lead to 4-3 with just over one minute to play in the half. Bloomsburg scored right before the half to take a 5-3 halftime lead.
The Griffins came out of the halftime break on fire after a spirited halftime talk from Coach Grove. Pontious cut the lead to one less than two minutes into the half.
Olivia Caragein scored twice in fourty four seconds to put the Griffins in front 6-5 with 26:25 to play in the half.
Katelyn Cressman increased the lead to two with an unassisted goal.
Jaclyn Frank pushed the lead to three and two goals from
Taylor Fox-Trudel in fourty seconds extended the lead to 10-5 with 22:24 to play. Goals from
Ashley Ingram, Kilduff and Caragein closed out the scoring for the Griffins.
Pontious and Caragein led the Griffins with three goals each. Kilduff and Fox-Trudel each scored twice. Fox-Trudel added two assists. Frank added a goal and two assists.
Hailey Jacobs recorded 14 saves in cage to earn the win for the Griffins. She made 9 saves in the second half during the shutout. She tied a career high with 14 saves.
SHU will host Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon in PSAC action.
