GREENSBURG, PA. - Seton Hill built a 20-point first half lead, but stumbled in the second half in the 89-76 loss to California University of Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday night inside the McKenna Center. Despite the loss, the Griffins secured a spot in the PSAC Men's Basketball Tournament.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill now sits at 9-17 overall, 7-13 in the PSAC.
• CAL-U improves to 8-18 overall, 6-14 in PSAC play.
// LEADERS
• Nathan Davis registered a double-double 21 points and 16 rebounds while Trevor Blondin led SHU in scoring with 27 points. Milenko Predic chipped in 15 points to round out the Seton Hill double-digit scorers.
• Brent Pegram scored a game-high 33 points, Collin MacAdams finished with 22, and Zyan Collins had 21 to pace California.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• Seton Hill came out of the gates on an 11-0 run over the game's first three minutes. Cal-U would chip away and cut the lead to four, 14-10, but SHU used a 8-2 run to push the lead out to double-digits, 22-12, with 12:06 to go in the first half. The Griffin lead would balloon to as many as 20 points, 40-20, by the 6:18 mark. But, the Vulcan's would use a 21-9 run to cut the lead to just eight, 49-41, heading into halftime. SHU looked to regain their composure in the second half, leading by as many as 10 twice - 55-45 and 57-47 - only to see Cal-U chip away and eventually take their first lead of the game, 66-65, with 9:11 remaining. The Griffins would not recover, and eventually fall to the Vulcans by a score of 89-76.

• Seton Hill will close out the 2018-19 regular season when they travel to #2 Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 2nd. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
