Seton Hill opened their third straight NCAA Atlantic Regional with a first round matchup with the second seed Gannon Knights on the campus of Wheeling University.
Gannon was able to avenge the loss in last year's regional semifinal with a sweep of the Griffins on Thursday afternoon. The Griffins end the season with a 19-11 record while Gannon advances to the regional semifinal against Shepherd with a record of 28-6.

Viktoria Farian put the Griffins in front 5-2 in the early portion of the first set. Gannon fought back to take a 10-7 lead over the Griffins forcing an early timeout. A Farian kill and a Farian/Rempe block cut the GU lead to 14-11. The Griffins trimmed the lead to 15-14 on kills from Parks and Rempe but the Knights responded with four in a row to push their lead to 19-14. Rempe continued to control the middle and SHU trailed 20-18 with Gannon taking their first timeout. Farian trimmed the lead to 21-19 with a kill. Two blocks from the Knights gave them the first set with a 25-20 win.
Gannon jumped out to an early 7-3 lead over the Griffins. They continued to build their lead and led 11-4 early in the second set. Kills from
Taylor Sabol,
Jessica Hanson and Farian cut the GU lead to 20-13. Farian saved one set point with a kill at 24-15. Gannon took a 2-0 lead over the Griffins with a 25-16 second set win.
The teams exchanged points early in the third set with three ties to start the set. Gannon then ran off six of the next seven points to take a 9-4 lead early in the third set. Kills from Rempe and Sabol cut the lead to 9-6. A kill from Hanson cut the lead to 13-11. Gannon answered with three straight to take a 16-11 lead. The Knights were able to close out the match with a 25-14 third set win.
Farian led the Griffins with 10 kills. Rempe added 6.
Jillian Livorse, Parks and Sabol each added 4 kills. Sabol paced the offense with 24 assists. Sabol led SHU with 9 digs. Farian had two blocks.
