The men's soccer team closed out the home portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon as they hosted #7 Gannon at Dick's Field.
The Knights scored twice in each half in route to a 4-1 victory over the Griffins. SHU is now 6-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in PSAC West play while Gannon improves to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the west.
Gannon took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute after a long throw in. The Knights added another goal in the 41st minute to increase their lead to 2-0 before the half. The Griffins had the lone corner kick in the half.Â
The Golden Knights increased their lead to 3-0 just over twelve minutes into the second half on a rocket off a free kick. Less than ten minutes later the Golden Knights pushed their lead to 4-0. SHU got their goal with just over sixteen minutes to play in the half on a penalty kick goal from
Lloyd Davies.Â
Davies led the Griffins with 2 shots.Â
Bobby White recorded 6 saves in net for the Griffins.Â
SHU will travel to California (PA) on Wednesday evening for a 6 PM start.Â
