The Seton Hill wrestling team kicked off their 2019 season with the Crimson-Gold Match on Friday evening in the McKenna Center.
The Gold team was able to win eleven of the twelve matches in route to a 39-3 victory over the Crimson team.
Winning the first five matches, the Gold team jumped out to a 18-0 lead. The team got wins from
Brady Sherback (16-1),
Kyle Burkholder (5-4),
William Burgess (8-0),
Joel Cawoski (6-5) and
Zach Macy (5-1).
Austin Shaw got the Crimson on the board with an 11-7 win.
The Gold team closed out the match by winning the final six matches.
Zach Recklein picked up a 4-0 win.
Logan McKoy followed with a 6-5 win.
Sean Hoover and
Alec Shaw each earned tough 3-2 decisions.
Joey Romjue won by a 10-4 score and
Jake Beistel won his match by fall.
The team will kick off the regular season at the Mount Union Invitational next Saturday.
