The Griffins played their first home PSAC West contest as they hosted Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday afternoon.
Seton Hill scored in the second half and the defense did their part in a 1-0 win over the Mountain Cats. SHU improves to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in PSAC West play. UPJ falls to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in PSAC West play.Â
The Griffins dominated play in the first half but could not find the back of the net. SHU outshot the Mountain Cats by a 10-3 margin in the first half. SHU also had seven corners in the first half to none for UPJ.Â
It only took the Griffins four minutes to get on the scoreboard in the second half.Â
Archie Lock's header off a corner kick was blocked but bounced back to him and he calmly beat the keeper for a 1-0 Griffin lead. The Griffins continued to pepper the UPJ net but did not score another one for the 1-0 win.Â
SHU outshot UPJ 29-5 in the contest and had 13 corners to two for UPJ.
Austin Iddon made a save to record the shutout. Lock led the Griffins with three shots on goal.Â

SHU returns to PSAC West play on Saturday when they host California (PA).Â
