The Griffin field hockey team made the trip north to Mansfield for a PSAC contest on Friday afternoon.
The Mountaineers scored a goal in each quarter for a 4-0 victory over the Griffins. Mansfield improves to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in PSAC play. SHU drops to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in PSAC play.
Mansfield got on the scoreboard just over five minutes into the first quarter as they took a 1-0 lead. They carried that 1-0 lead into the second quarter.
With less than nine minutes to play in the first half, the Mountaineers increased their lead to 2-0. Mansfield led 2-0 at the halftime break.
Elizabeth Armbruster made 10 saves in the first half.
With less than five minutes to play in the third quarter, Mansfield pushed their lead to 3-0. They added a fourth goal just 30 seconds into the fourth quarter.
Armbruster finished the contest with 12 saves.

Kaylie Melnick each had a shot for the Griffins.
SHU returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host IUP.
