The Warriors extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 62nd minute.
Emily LoPresti scored her first of two goals in the 80th minute that cut the ESU lead to 2-1. LoPresti connected with her left foot from about 30 yards out, beating the keeper into the upper left hand corner of the net. Just under four minutes later,
Ashlynn Swanger found
Italia Biondi open and Biondi took the pass turned and beat the ESU keeper to tie the score at two with just over six minutes to play in regulation. Neither team scored over the final six minutes and the game went into overtime. ESU outshot the Griffins 13-8 in the second half.
It did not take long for the Griffins to win the game in overtime. LoPresti sent the ball back to
Amy Lynch who played the ball forward. The ball hit an ESU defender and LoPresti got to the ball, took a touch and buried the game winner with her left foot just twelve seconds into overtime. The goal is the 16th career game winner for LoPresti.
Neill finished the game with 8 saves.
SHU will continue PSAC play on Wednesday when they travel to IUP.
