Seton Hill made the trip across the state to battle #8 West Chester in an important early season PSAC contest. West Chester scored a goal in the 70th minute for the lone goal of the game. SHU falls to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in PSAC play while the Rams improve to 1-0-1 overall and in PSAC play.
Jessica Neill made three saves in the game's first fifteen minutes to keep the game scoreless.
Emily LoPresti was stopped twice in a three minute span as the game remained scoreless. The Griffins nearly took the lead in the 38th minute when
Italia Biondi's shot hit the crossbar. She got the rebound but her second shot was blocked.
The Rams had three shots on goal in the first 20 minutes of the second half but Neill was up to task, making all three saves. West Chester finally found the back of the net in the 70th minute after a shot hit the crossbar. The Rams were able to pounce on the loose ball in the box and beat Neill for a 1-0 lead. SHU had one more shot on goal from
Taylor Crupie in the second half.
Neill finished with 8 saves in the contest. LoPresti finished with 3 shots on goal and Biondi had 5 shots.
The Griffins return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a nonconference contest under the lights.
