The Seton Hill softball team saw its season come to an end on Friday afternoon in Buckhannon, WV at the NCAA Atlantic Regional. WV Wesleyan scored in three of their six at bats in route to a 4-1 victory over the Griffins. SHU ends the season with a 23-17 record.
The Griffins threatened in the top of the first inning. With one out,
Laken Ryen doubled to the right center field gap.
Devyn Terry followed with a walk to put runners on first and second but a fielders choice and a strikeout ended the threat.
WV Wesleyan got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning. They used a single, a double and a perfectly executed squeeze play on a 3-2 count to take a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. They used a two out, two RBI double to take a 3-0 lead over the Griffins.
A solo homer extended the Bobcats lead to 4-0 in the fifth inning.
Terry got the Griffins on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with a solo shot to right field.
Paige Hertzog finished her Seton Hill career with a two for three day,
