Seton Hill returned to action on Thursday afternoon with a pair of games in the PFX Tournament in Clermont, Florida. For the fourth straight day, the Griffins earned a split in the pair of games. SHU opened with a 10-4 win over Urbana. They followed that with a 7-4 loss to #9 and defending national champion Minnesota State-Mankato under the lights. SHU is now 5-5 on the season.
SHU scored twice in the bottom of the second inning in game one.
Paige Hertzog opened the inning with a single. She moved to second on a bunt from
Samantha Estupinian. Hertzog then scored on a
Chelsea Rohan base hit. Rohan made it 2-0 when she scored on a
Laken Ryen hit. The Griffins added two more runs in the third. Hertzog and Estupinian each had RBI singles in the inning.
Ryen knocked in
Abbie Thrower in the fourth inning with a single to give SHU a 5-0 lead. Urbana got one in the fifth and three in the sixth to cut the lead to 5-4. Seton Hill responded with five runs in the bottom of the sixth. Ryen opened the scoring with a two RBI single.

Christiana Skrabak and
Ashley Perillo each added RBIs in the inning.
Alyssa Blake worked all seven innings for the win. Hertzog and Ryen each had three hits in the win. Estupinian and Skrabak each added two hits.
SHU took a 1-0 lead over Minnesota State in the first inning of game two.
Brooke Bower laced a double down the left field line to open the game. After two outs, Perillo singled up the middle to knock in Bower. SHU held the 1-0 lead until the bottom of the fourth. The Mavs took advantage of two SHU errors to score three times and take a 3-1 lead.
The Griffins answered right back in the top of the fifth and took advantage of two MSU errors to take a 4-3 lead. Ryen and Bower singled to start the inning. After an out, Skrabak singled to load the bases. Perillo and Hertzog each reached on errors with three runs scoring.
In the bottom of the fifth, MSU had their first two runners reach on an error and followed that with a three run homer to take a 6-4 lead. The Mavs added an insurance run in the sixth inning for the 7-4 win.
Skrabak led the Griffins with 3 hits. Bower and Perillo each had two hits.
SHU will close out their spring trip with a pair of games on Friday.
