Seton Hill hosted Gannon in the final two games of their four game set on Saturday afternoon to wrap up their PSAC West series. Gannon took game one by the score of 6-1. SHU scored five times in the first inning of game two and held on for a 5-3 win to earn a split of the doubleheader. SHU is now 9-13 on the season and 4-4 in PSAC West play.
Gannon broke thru on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning. They scored three runs on three hits to take a 3-0 lead. One of the runs was unearned.
SHU scored in the fifth inning. After two outs,
Garret Vrbanic doubled and scored when
MP Buckley singled to cut the lead to 3-1.
Gannon scored three runs in the seventh for the 6-1 win.
SHU batted around in the bottom of the first inning of game two to take a 5-0 lead. SHU used three straight hit batters and two errors around a hit.
Jordan Fiedor,
Tom McCarthy and
Parker Denny were hit by pitches.
Austin Braendel reached on an error with 2 runners scoring. Two more runs scored when
Tristan Tinney reached on an error. The final run scored on an
Evan Myers sacrifice fly.
The Knights cut the lead to 5-3 in the third inning with three unearned runs.
Michael Bryja earned the win with six strong innings. He gave up 6 hits and 0 earned runs.
Neal McDermott earned his second save.
SHU returns to action on Tuesday afternoon with a doubleheader in Shepherd.
