Seton Hill headed to Gannon on Saturday afternoon for a PSAC West contest. Gannon jumped out to a 41-14 lead and held on for a 48-28 victory. SHU is now 0-6 overall and 0-3 in PSAC play while the Knights improve to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in PSAC West action.
Gannon took a 6-0 lead late in the first quarter on a 47 yard TD run. They extended their lead to 13-0 early in the second quarter on a 12 yard TD run. SHU responded with an eight yard touchdown run from
Michael Valentino with 3:48 to play in the first half. The Knights scored the final points of the half on a 27 yard TD pass with just over a minute to play in the half. Gannon led 20-7 at the half.
The Knights opened the scoring in the second half with a 100 yard pick six to extend the lead to 27-7 early in the third quarter. On their next possession, the Knights pushed their lead to 34-7 with a 47 yard run with 10:47 to play in the third period.
Ryan Barabe connected with
Kinan Humphrey on a nine yard touchdown pass to trim the lead to 34-14 with 7:26 to play in the quarter. On the final play of the quarter, the Knights rumbled 70 yards for a touchdown to take a 41-14 lead into the fourth quarter.
Cinque Sweeting scampered 51 yards to pay dirt early in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 41-21. The Knights answered with a 58 yard run to push the lead back to 48-21 with 9:51 to play in the game.
Terrell Ford then took the kickoff back 94 yards for the final points of the contest.
Ryan Barabe finished 26-36 for 289 yards and a touchdown.
Cinque Sweeting rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Michael Valentino added 69 yards and a touchdown.
Uriah Rajkumar caught 8 balls for 95 yards.
Kinan Humphrey added 8 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Malik Scott and
Jai Dixon each added 8 tackles for the Griffins.
SHU will return to action next Saturday when they host Mercyhurst.
