The Griffins continued PSAC play on Wednesday afternoon as they hosted Gannon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in 110 minutes as
Jessica Neill was spectacular in net for the Griffins as the teams played to a 0-0 tie. SHU is now 8-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in PSAC play. Gannon is now 4-4-2 and 3-4-2 in PSAC play.
Seton Hill put two shots on goal in the first ten minutes as
Italia Biondi and
Katie Kimmich each had shots saved. SHU led in shots in the half, 6-5 with five of them being on goal. Neill made 2 saves in net in the half.
The second half was all Gannon offensively but Neill was up to the challenge, making 8 saves in the half to keep the match scoreless. Gannon outshot the Griffins 16-3 in the half.
The first overtime saw the Griffins record the only shot in the period. In the second overtime, the Knights outshot the Griffins 5-1 but Neill made two more saves to record the shutout.
Neill finished with a career high 12 saves in the tie.
Emily LoPresti led the Griffins with 4 shots, 3 on goal.
SHU returns to action on Saturday when they host Lock Haven.
