CLARION, PA - Emily LoPresti and Italia Biondi scored a goal apiece and the Seton Hill University women's soccer team ended the 2018 regular season with a 2-1 win over Clarion University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill is now 12-4-1 on the year, 11-4-1 in the PSAC.
• Jessica Neill had two saves while surrendering just the one goal on the night.
• Their 12 wins on the season equals a program-best set in the 2017 campaign while the 11 conference wins raises the bar from last year's team. The seven wins on the road is also a program-best.
// FIRST HALF
• Emily LoPresti broke a scoreless game when she received a long through-ball sent into the box from Italia Biondi. The goal was the 6th on the year for the Senior from Petrolia, PA. The half would end with Seton Hill leading Clarion, 1-0.
// SECOND HALF
• Italia Biondi scored her 10th goal of the season when she found the back of the net via a shot from 10 yards out to the far post to give SHU a 2-0 advantage. Katie Kimmich is credited with the assist.
• Alexis Moyer cut the deficit in half with a Clarion goal in the 75th, but Seton Hill would hold on for the 2-1 win.
// SECOND HALF
• Having already clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament, the Griffins will have to wait for the remainder of the conference to finish up regular season play in order to see where they will land in the post-season picture.
