Seton Hill hosted West Chester in PSAC action on Friday night in the McKenna Center. The Griffins were able to improve to 7-0 at home on the season with a 3-1 victory over the visiting Rams. SHU is now 14-8 overall and 8-4 in PSAC play.
The Griffins used a 5-0 run that started with a
Viktoria Farian kill to take an 8-4 lead early in the first set. Another 5-0 run later in the set put the Griffins in front 14-7.
Jillian Livorse had two kills in the run. A kill from
Jessica Hanson and an ace from Farian gave SHU a 1-0 lead with a 25-15 first set win.
SHU led the Rams early in the second set by an 8-5 margin. Later in the set, the Rams used a 9-1 run to take a 20-14 lead. SHU responded with five straight points to cut the lead to 20-19. Hanson had two kills and a block while
Taylor Sabol added an ace in the run. The Rams built their lead to 24-20. SHU fought off two set points with a kill from
Leah Bisignani and an ace from
Sidney Chapman but the Rams tied the match at one with a 25-22 second set win.
The early portion of the third set was tightly played. SHU pulled away during the middle part of the set with a 9-0 run that gave them a 17-7 lead. Hanson and Farian each had three kills during the run. SHU took a 2-1 lead with a 25-13 third set win.
The Rams jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the fourth set. A pair of three point runs gave the Griffins their first lead of the set at 12-11. SHU finally took control of the set with a late 5-0 run that gave them a 20-15 lead. SHU closed out the match with a 25-20 win.
Farian led the Griffins with a match high 18 kills. Hanson also reached double figures with 11. Bisignani just missed double figures with 9. Sabol led the offense with 20 assists while
Brynn Fleury added 18. Hanson and
Rachel Satira each had four blocks.
Hannah Moeller had a match high 24 digs. Livorse finished with 12.
SHU continues PSAC play on Saturday when they host Millersville.
