Seton Hill opened its PSAC Softball Tournament with a matchup with #2 seed from the central Lock Haven at Veterans Park in Quakertown, PA. The Griffin bats were powerful all afternoon long as they scored in each of the first four innings as they run ruled Lock Haven 10-2 in five innings. SHU improves to 22-22 on the season.
The Griffins got a leadoff single from
Victoria Stock and when Stock beat the throw to second on a
Brooke Bower bunt, the Griffins had runners on first and second with no outs.
Ashley Perillo moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt.
Abbey Suhoski then singled thru the left side to give SHU a 1-0 lead and put runners on first and third with one out.
Paige Hertzog followed with a bomb over the left center field fence to give SHU the early 4-0 lead. The hitting continued as back to back doubles from
Christiana Skrabak and
Amanda Huff pushed the Griffins lead to 5-0.
Lock Haven answered back with a two runs on a two run homer in their half of the first inning. Seton Hill got one of those runs back in the second inning. Stock led off with a single and moved to second on a bunt from Bower. After Perillo reached on an error, Suhoski singled in Stock for a 6-2 lead. The hitting experience continued in the third as Huff led off the inning with a line drive homer to center field.
After an out to start the fourth, Suhoski singled to center field. Hertzog and Skrabak followed with singles to load the bases. Huff blooped an single to center and
Chelsea Rohan followed with a 2 RBI double to push the Griffins lead to 10-2.
Needing just three outs to end the game, SHU got a strike em out pick em off double play for the first two outs of the fifth. Rohan snapped a throw to Suhoski to pick off the leadoff runner of the inning .
Amanda Huff led the Griffins in the circle and at the plate. She worked all five innings, giving up just two runs and striking out four. She was also 3-3 at the plate with 3 RBI. She now has 8 straight hits.
Abbey Suhoski also added 3 hits and 2 RBI.

Chelsea Rohan each had two hits in the win. Hertzog drove in three and Rohan two.
SHU advances in the tournament and will take on #1 seed from the East, West Chester in game nine of the tournament on Thursday.
