Seton Hill took a break from PSAC action on Tuesday afternoon as they hosted Point Park in a single nine inning contest. Seton Hill survived by the score of 11-9. SHU improves to 24-13 overall.
The Griffins got on the board first in the bottom of the first on an opposite field homer from
Mark Colella. Point Park scored three times in the top of the second to take a 3-1 lead.
Seton Hill added six more runs in the second inning to retake a 7-3 lead.
Ryan Grieco drove in two with a double in the inning.
Tyler Sullivan, Colella and
Ryan Wardropper each added RBIs in the inning. SHU added single unearned runs in the fourth and fifth as they built a 9-5 lead.
Sam Vilk knocked in
Tom McCarthy in the sixth as SHU extended their lead to 10-5.
Point Park picked up two runs in the top of the seventh to cut the Griffins lead to 10-7. Colella got one of those runs back with a sac fly in the bottom of the inning.
Sullivan led the Griffins with 3 hits. Grieco, Vilk and Peters added two hits.
Matt Ober earned the win and
Bryce Spak picked up a one out save.
SHU will take on Indiana (PA) in a four game set this weekend starting in Indiana on Friday.
