Matt Kline all scored in double-figures as Seton Hill University cruised past Carlow University (NAIA), 115-87, Monday evening inside the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center in Greensburg.
The Griffins halt a three-game slide to improve to 4-6 overall. Carlow now sits at 1-9 for the 2017-18 campaign.
Showing a full-court press for the first time this season, the Griffins scored the game's first eight (8) points and outscored Carlow, 22-13, over the first nine minutes of the contest. Seton Hill continued the onslaught with a 14-0 run to push the lead out to 23, 36-13, with 7:46 remaining in the first half. The new-look, up-tempo style caused havoc with the Celtic's and allowed the Griffins to eventually push the lead to 28, 46-18, before ending the half with a 55-31 lead.
The second half saw the Seton Hill lead baloon out to 37, 81-44, by the 12:44 mark of the half. The Griffins totaled eight (8) three's in the frame and shot 61.1% from the floor on their way to the 115-87 win.
Nathan Davis led the Griffins with 26 points on 9-for-17 from the field, including a 3-for-6 performance from long-range.
Tyler Bowling had 17 points on 6-for-11 from the field,
Trevor Lecuona and Milenko Predic both tallied 16 points,
Tommy Sekunda had 12, and
Matt Kline had 11. Predic led the team with 10 rebounds.
Charlie Scharbo had a game-high 36 points on a stellar 13-for-17 night from the floor for the Celtics. Tony Acrie came away with 18 points to round out the double-digit scorers for Carlow.
Seton Hill set season-highs in Points (115), Field Goals Made (42), Field Goal Percentage (58.3%), Three-Point Field Goal Percentage (66.7%), Assists (22), and Steals (13). The 10 three pointers made ties the season high with the game played against East Stroudsburg on December 2nd.
The Griffins will return to action after the Christmas break on December 30th when they welcome Slippery Rock University into the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center. Tip-off for the game is approximately 3:00 PM.
