On a night where the Griffins honored five members of the team for Senior Night, the Griffins made sure it was a night to remember as they cruised to a three game sweep of Millersville in the McKenna Center. With the win, the Griffins improve to 19-5 overall and 11-3 in PSAC play. The Griffins are one of five teams in the league with an 11-3 record.

Jessica Beal.
Millersville used a 7-2 run early in the first set to jump out to a 10-5 lead. The Griffin comeback started with a kill from Sassack. A block from Sassack and Wenson and another block from
Jillian Livorse and Wenson cut the Marauders lead to 11-9 forcing a MU timeout. Millersville was able to build their lead back to 17-13 before a 6-0 run from the Griffins gave them a lead. SHU had two kills from Livorse and one each from
Viktoria Farian, Murray and Beal to take a 19-17 lead. The Marauders scored the next three points to take a 20-19 lead but the Griffins scored the final six points of the set to take a 1-0 lead following a 25-20 first set win. Set point was a block from
Leah Bisignani and Sassack.
The early portion of the second set was tightly played. SHU took a 10-7 lead after two Millersville errors. The Griffins then used a 7-0 run off the serve of
Hannah Moeller to build a 17-8 lead. Moeller had three aces during the run. SHU then coasted to a 25-11 second set win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Back to back kills from Beal and Chapman and a block from Sassack and Wenson gave SHU a 15-11 lead in the third set. Two kills from Murray and one each from Beal and Farian keyed a 4-1 run as SHU led 21-15. Back to back kills from
Sidney Chapman pushed the Griffins to a match point and Chapman and
Jessica Hanson combined for a block at match point for a 25-20 third set win.
Farian led the Griffins with a match high 14 kills. She also added 10 digs. Murray added 34 assists, 7 kills, 5 digs and 3 blocks. Beal added 6 kills and 2 blocks. Sassack had 4 kills in 9 attempts with 3 blocks. Baich had a match high 14 digs.
SHU continues play on Saturday when they host PSAC Central Division co-leader Shippensburg at 1 PM.
