Football Season Ends with 51-13 Loss at Shippensburg

Seton Hill saw its football season end with a 51-13 loss on the road at Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon.  The Griffins finish the season with an 0-11 mark.

Shippensburg scored the only points of the first quarter on a long, 91 yard drive to take a 7-0 lead after one quarter of action.

The Raiders increased their lead to 13-0 on their first drive of the second quarter.  On the next Ship possession, Fardan Allen caused a fumble and Jeremy Lissade returned it all the way to the Raider 27 yard line.  The Griffins moved to the three yard line before a penalty and two negative plays forced the Griffins to try a 32 yard field goal.  The field goal was missed and Ship continued to lead 13-0.  Shippensburg increased their lead to 20-0 with 17 seconds to play in the half on a six yard touchdown run.

Shippensburg pulled away in the third quarter as they scored on all three of their possessions to take a 37-0 lead into the fourth quarter.

Ship extended their lead to 44-0 on their first drive of the fourth quarter.  SHU answered with a nine play, 83 yard drive capped by a two yard Jarvis McClam run to cut the lead to 44-7.  The Griffins scored their final touchdown on the final play of the game when Evan Byrd scored from two yards out.

McClam rushed for 71 yards on 20 carries and had one touchdown. He also added four catches for 77 yards. Christian Strong was 13-31 for 179 yards.
