ERIE, PA. - The Seton Hill University women's soccer team suffered a shutout at the hands of #22 Gannon University, 1-0, in Erie on Wedensday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.
With the loss, the Griffins slip to 7-4-1 overall and 5-4-1 in the PSAC. Gannon improves to 8-1-1 overall, 7-1-1 in the conference.
The Griffins were unable to convert shots into goals as they outshot their opponents by a 6-2 margin in the first frame. However, Gannon stormed back in the second, outshooting Seton Hill, 13-3, and scoring what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the 48th minute of the game.
For the match, Gannon had 15 total shots compared to nine for Seton Hill.
Jessica Neill had seven saves in all 90 minutes played. Danitza Indacochea grabbed five saves in the win.Â
Seton Hill travels to Lock Haven on Saturday, October 7th to take on the Bald Eagles of Lock Haven University. That match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
