The Griffins hosted Indiana (PA) on Tuesday afternoon at Dick's Field in a PSAC battle. Neither team scored in the first half but the Crimson Hawks scored three times in the second half for the 3-0 win. SHU drops to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in PSAC play. IUP improves to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play.
Neither team did much in the first half with the Griffins having two shots on goal and the Crimson Hawks having just one shot on goal in the half. IUP held a 4-3 advantage in penalty corners in the half.
Just over seven minutes into the second half, IUP finally got on the scoreboard off a penalty corner. With less than ten minutes left in the half, IUP pushed their lead to 2-0. The Crimson Hawks increased their lead to 3-0 with a goal with less than four minutes to play in the game.
Alexandra Piekarz recorded three saves in cage.
Both teams finished the game with eight penalty corners.
SHU will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Millersville.
