Seton Hill continued PSAC play with a road game under the lights at California on Wednesday evening. Seton Hill outshot the Vulcans by a 22-3 score but could not find the back of the net in a 0-0 double overtime contest. SHU is now 1-1-1 on the season.
The Griffins totally dominated play in the first half as they held a 6-0 advantage in shots over the Vulcans. SHU had two shots on goal in the half but could not beat the Cal keeper.
Seton Hill continued the onslought in the second half with 12 shots on goal but again could not find the back of the net. SHU kept the Vulcan keeper on her toes as she had to make 6 saves to keep the Griffins off the scoreboard. Emma Portious had two shots on goal in the half.
Just over a minute into the first overtime period,
Jessica Neill made a huge save on the Vulcans as they had broken thru on a breakaway. Five minutes into the first overtime
Emily LoPresti had a good scoring chance but the Cal keeper continued her shutout bid with a save. The second overtime did not see any shots on goal.
Jessica Neill recorded two saves in net for the clean sheet.
Emily LoPresti led SHU with 6 shots in the game while Emily Portious added 5 shots.
SHU will continue PSAC play on Saturday when they host Kutztown.
