Seton Hill made their third straight appearance in the PSAC Tournament as they traveled to Lock Haven for the PSAC Quarterfinal on Saturday afternoon. The result would not be one that Griffin fans were wanting as the Bald Eagles ended the Griffins season with a 16-9 loss. SHU ends the season with an 8-10 overall record.
Lock Haven opened the scoring just 35 seconds into the contest, taking a 1-0 lead.
Katelyn Cressman tied the score at the 24:35 mark of the half. The Bald Eagles then went on a five goal run to take a 6-1 lead with 9:08 left in the half.
Emily Fagan finished a feed from
Charlotte Cunningham cutting the Eagles lead to 6-2 with 8:46 to play. Lock Haven scored twice in 40 seconds before the half, taking a 8-2 halftime lead over the Griffins. LHU outshot the Griffins 15-9 in the half.
Meghan Hollar recorded 6 saves in net in the half.
The Bald Eagles opened the scoring with a free position shot just 1:29 into the half. Thirty one seconds later
Tristen Hanke got that goal back cutting the lead to 9-3. LHU added another FPS goal pushing the lead back to seven at 10-3.
Alessandra Nicholas scored on a FPS trimming the lead to 10-4. SHU scored again after a fantastic play from Fagan. Fagan caused a turnover after tracking down the keeper. She picked up a ground ball and found Nicholas to cut the lead to 10-5 with 24:15 left. Fagan scored her 60
th goal of the season off a pass from
Renee Kania that trimmed the lead to 11-6 with 14:26 to play. Lock Haven then scored the next three goals to push their lead to 14-6 with 9:33 left to play. Fagan found the back of the net off a pass from Kania, cutting the lead to 14-7 with 4:50 to play. The duo switched roles on a goal with 3:33 to play.
Mackenzie Kilduff finished a pass from Nicholas with 1:51 left in the half.
Fagan closed out a spectacular career with a five point performance. She scored three goals and added two assists. Nicholas finished the game with two goals and an assist. Kania added two assists and a goal in the game. Hollar finished the game with 8 saves.
