Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Griffins Battle but Fall to #3 West Chester

Seton Hill closed out their season by hosting #3 and undefeated West Chester on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day.  The Griffins put up a great defensive battle but a goal with less than six minutes to play was the deciding factor as the Rams remained perfect on the season with a 1-0 victory.  SHU ends the year at 7-8-2 overall and 6-8-2 in PSAC play.  WCU improves to 17-0 on the season and 16-0 in PSAC action.

The early part of the game was a feeling out process as neither team registered a shot for the first 16 minutes of the contest.  West Chester then went on to register 5 shots in the first half with one of them being on goal.  Jessica Neill recorded one save in the half.

Emily LoPresti recorded the Griffins first shot five minutes in to the second half.  Just over a minute later, Katie Kimmich's header just went wide that would have given SHU a 1-0 lead.  Finally with 5:28 to play in the game, West Chester was able to get on the scoreboard.  They used a perfect thru ball to split the defense and they right footed it into the back of the net.

Neill finished the game with 5 saves.

Before the game the Griffins honored Stephanie Mizla and Bri Kostan.
