Box Score Seton Hill concluded their road trip to Erie with a PSAC matchup against Gannon on Saturday afternoon. Gannon swept the visiting Griffins in straight sets. SHU falls to 15-6 overall and 7-2 in PSAC play while Gannon improves to 18-3 overall and 7-2 in PSAC action.
Gannon took the first set by a 25-15 score. The set was tight early as the match was tied 9-9 early in the set. The Knights used a 4-0 run to start to take control of the set. SHU got to within 19-15 but the Knights scored the final six points of the set for the win.
Maggie Murray's solo block tied the second set at four early in the set. The Griffins would get no closer than three points in the set as Gannon took a 2-0 lead with a 25-17 second set win.
The third set was a lot tighter than the first two with the Griffins holding a 13-12 lead midway thru the set. Gannon built their lead to 22-17 but a Gannon hitting error and a
Katie Wenson kill trimmed the lead to 22-19 forcing the Knights to call a timeout. Back to back kills from
Maggie Murray and Wenson got SHU to within 23-21 but Gannon scored the final two points to complete the sweep.
Jillian Livorse led the Griffins with 6 kills.
Cassie Hausfeld finished with 5.
Mary Baich had 15 digs.
SHU will travel to IUP next Friday for a PSAC Southwest Division match.
